Overhead Line Engineering
Full lifecycle overhead line engineering for GB transmission and distribution assets — from optioneering and route corridor selection through detailed sag-tension design, structure loading and issue of construction drawings, to on-site technical support during stringing and commissioning.
Scope of work
- Route selection, corridor optioneering and profiling
- Sag-tension and clearance design (PLS-CADD)
- Tower, pole and foundation loading assessment
- Conductor, fitting and insulator specification
- Uprating, reconductoring and refurbishment studies
- Wayleaves, diversions and third-party crossings
How it runs
01
Constraints & optioneering
Corridor screening against environmental, planning and landowner constraints, with cost and outage comparison of options.
02
Detailed design
Survey-based profiling, sag-tension modelling, structure loading and clearance verification to BS EN 50341.
03
Approval & construction
Design submissions to the TO/DNO, issue for construction packs and site technical support through to energisation.
